Unstress

Why I built this

H.D.

I built unstress because I have been where you might be right now. I went through stress collapse twice, and I am still recovering from the second time. It is slow, and some days are harder than others — but it does get lighter.

When I was in it, I needed something calm and honest that helped me notice what was happening and take one small step. So I made that.

unstress will always be free and I hope I can keep it running. It does not track you, it does not keep your answers on a server, and it is not here to diagnose you. It is just a quiet set of tools from someone who understands, that I found helpful myself — and a reminder that you can adapt to a lot, and that you are not alone in this.

Whatever you are carrying right now, I hope unstress makes today feel a little lighter. Go gently with yourself — recovery is not a straight line, and small steps truly count. You are not alone in this, and you are doing better than you think. Be well.

A personal note about faith (optional — skip if it’s not for you)

This part is personal, and it’s about my faith, so I’ve tucked it away here. It isn’t part of the tools, and it’s completely okay to skip it — I don’t want to push anything on anyone.

Good therapy genuinely helped me — a lot of unstress grew out of what I found helpful in what I received from skilled therapists, and I’m grateful for them.

Before all that the biggest turning point for me was Jesus. Therapy worked with my heart and my mind; faith reached somewhere deeper.

When everything inside felt loud and heavy, Jesus brought a peace I still can’t fully explain. At first it was just one quiet room within me — but having that one steady place helped the peace slowly spread to the rest of me, and it gave me hope on the days that felt impossible.

Talking honestly about my situation — with Jesus, and with my pastor, and with a few other Christians — carried me through, and so did the encouragement I kept finding in the Bible. Recovery has still taken years, and I’m not all the way there, but this is honestly for me what made the difference.

My pastor gave something different again — more time than an appointment usually allows, and a presence that was less about fixing me and more about simply being with me. The tools here helped, and so did therapy; for me this was never either/or, it was all of it together.

It’s hard to put into words. Faith, for me, was like finding a life-ring after being lost at sea. It doesn’t make the storm go away — the situation is still hard — but it keeps your head above water, and lets you hope a little longer and breathe a little easier until you reach some kind of shore.

If you’re open to it, I’d gently encourage you to invite Jesus into your heart and your situation, and maybe to talk with a pastor as well. And if it isn’t your path, that’s completely okay — the rest of unstress works exactly the same for everyone.

What unstress is — and isn't

It is: A calm, private, research-informed place to reflect on your stress load and take small supportive steps.

It isn't: A diagnosis, a treatment, or a replacement for professional or crisis care.

unstress is free, and always will be. If it has helped you, you can buy me a coffee — it quietly covers the hosting so unstress can stay free for everyone.
